We've been to some very nice sites in southern France at the end of our European vacation. Settling in Arles, we visited a very interesting Abbey just a short drive away, then took the Van Gogh walk in St. Remy, ending up in the ancient roman town of Glanum. Provence is always full of interesting things to do and great food (see: Food for the Heat in Arles), you should consider it for your next vacation.
