Rainmeter is a product that has been around for a long time but continues to get enhanced. Additionally it also has a very active community. .The website describes Rainmeter as a desktop customization tool. These guys are not wrong! The program is basically a way to plaster any number of widgets and gadgets on your Windows desktop that can provide a constant feed of everything you might want to know. Your latest Twitter messages, the state of your PC's memory or hard disk, the weather where you are, your recommended word of the day, and just about anything else.

Rainmeter is not so much a desktop utility as a way of life. You'll either love the way it takes over your desktop with all the interesting new information, or you won't. Personally, I'm still undecided, but it's certainly a very impressive product. - Robert Schifreen
