The aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CVN 65) makes its final voyage to Newport News Shipbuilding. The first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier will be dismantled at the shipyard prior to the scheduled commissioning of the next aircraft carrier Enterprise (CVN 80). The guided-missile destroyer USS Paul Hamilton (DDG 60) flies the 242-foot Homeward Bound Pennant. The pennant is authorized after a ship has spent 270 or more uninterrupted days at sea. Paul Hamilton is on patrol in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility supporting security and stability of the Indo-Asia-Pacific region. U.S. Navy by IS1 Jarrod A.
