The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments:
Capt. James T. Loeblein, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces, U.S. Central Command, Manama, Bahrain. Loeblein is currently serving as director, Navy Senate Liaison Office, Office of Legislative Affairs, Washington, D.C.
Capt. John B. Nowell Jr., who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy chief of staff for strategy, resources, and plans, N5/N8, U.S. Naval Forces Europe/U.S. Naval Forces Africa/U.S. Sixth Fleet, Naples, Italy. Nowell is currently serving as division director, Surface Warfare Officer Distribution and Career Management Division, PERS-41, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn.
Capt. Robert D. Sharp, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as director of intelligence, J2, U.S. Special Operations Command, Tampa, Fla. Sharp is currently serving as Chief of Naval Operations Strategic Studies Group Fellow, Newport, R.I.
