New app has women curious, men furious

Missing printer-friendly link

A new dating app is turning plenty of heads. Lulu lets women anonymously rate and share secrets about men. Though it has about a million users, it has both men and women very upset.

Here's how it works: You log into the app through Facebook. If it sees that you're a man, it kicks you out. If you're a woman, you can give your friends and friends of friends "reviews." You can even assign a guy key phrases like "#HotStuff," "#Dudecancook" and others not fit to print.

Some believe it's an easy way to take the guesswork out of dating. Others think it's perverted and demeans men and the women who use it. What do you think?

NASA needs you to help save the world

Missing printer-friendly link

This year has been a strange one for giant hunks of rock. I'm sure you remember the Russian meteorite that hit earlier in the year. Few people remember that on the same day, an asteroid got tremendously close to Earth!

NASA doesn't want to have any more near-misses or sudden scares. It wants your help to recognize asteroids before they become news. It's calling for amateur stargazers and Web sleuths alike to help track asteroids!

It has posted a bunch of tips and tools on its website. It's a great way to help you learn more about stargazing. If nothing else, it's a good excuse to watch dozens of space videos!

App helps you confess your sins

Missing printer-friendly link

This new app makes it easy to confess your sins. No, not to the entire world like a social-networking app. This nifty new app makes it easy to connect with a priest who can hear them.

The app walks first-timers through the entire process of confession. There's even a tutorial on how to perform an examination of conscience. It's full of questions people should ask themselves to create a better bond with their priest.

Right now, there's only one priest on the app. The makers of the app want to add more priests as the project gains attention.

Smart socks read your feet's thoughts

Missing printer-friendly link

It seems like we get new "smart" gear every day. I've told you how smart electronics want to take over your whole home. Now, a fitness company wants to take over your feet.

You pair these state-of-the-art socks with a band on your ankle. Together, they give you ideas on how you can prevent long-term injuries and muscle damage. The socks can even give you suggestions on how to overcome the dreaded "runner's plateau."

It's like a personal trainer you can wear! It seems a little creepy to me, but what do you think?

Your searches as poetry

Missing printer-friendly link

I've shown you in the past how Google's Search history and autocomplete can be creepy. Did you know it could be poetic, too? This hilarious blog has been compiling weird searches for months, but it just got popular this week.

The creators grab bizarre "autocompletes" in Google search and turn them in into poetry. They start by typing in some open-ended phrases like "I have" or "I love" into Google's Search. You won't believe some of the bizarre results!

I've picked a few of my favorites. Browse the site and share some of your favorites with me on Facebook and Twitter! Click here to see your searches as poetry. >>
