Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today the following appointments and reassignment:
Kenneth Brennan has been appointed to the Senior Executive Service and is assigned as deputy director, acquisition technology, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics), Washington, D.C. Brennan previously served as supervisory program manager, Department of Navy, Arlington, Va.
John E. Gilliland has been appointed to the Senior Executive Service as deputy assistant secretary of defense for house affairs, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Legislative Affairs), Washington, D.C. Gilliland previously served as a U.S. Naval officer, Department of Defense, Washington, D.C.
D. Mark Husband has been appointed to the Senior Executive Service and is assigned as senior advisor, root cause analysis, Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics), Washington, D.C. Husband previously served as a professor of system engineering and cost analysis, Defense Acquisition University, Fort Belvoir, Va.
Mark W. Lippert has been appointed to the Senior Executive Service and is assigned as special assistant to the secretary and deputy secretary of defense, Immediate Office, Washington, D.C. and will serve as chief of staff to the secretary of defense. Lippert previously served as assistant secretary of defense (Asian & Pacific affairs), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Policy), Washington, D.C.
Michael D. Lumpkin has been appointed to the Senior Executive Service and is assigned as special assistant to the secretary of defense, Immediate Office, Washington, D.C. Lumpkin previously served as chief executive officer, Industrial Security Alliance Partners, USA, San Diego, Calif.
Richard O. Wightman Jr., has been assigned as principal deputy assistant secretary of defense (reserve affairs), Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Reserve Affairs), Washington, D.C. Wightman previously served as deputy assistant secretary of defense (materials and facilities), Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Reserve Affairs), Washington, D.C.
