From Fiona Haynes, your Guide to Low Fat Cooking
Warmer weather means cookouts and picnics, and these can be calorie-laden feasts. Find out how to keep your summer eating in check while still enjoying the best of the season.

Healthier Banana Bread
I have a habit of buying more bananas than I or my family can reasonably eat before they become overripe and speckled. I hate to waste these bananas, so I do one of two things: freeze unpeeled bananas to use in a smoothie and make banana bread. This healthier version is lower in fat than traditional banana bread, but you would be hard pressed to tell.

Six Low Fat Smoothies
As I noted above, when I have more bananas than I can eat, I freeze the excess (unpeeled) once they become overripe and use them in smoothies. Frozen bananas add body to any fruit smoothie, belying the fact that you are drinking something that happens to be low fat.
